Lip Blush

WHAT IS LIP BLUSH?

It is a lip tattoo done with a machine and a disposable cartridge needle. Lip blush enhances, defines your lips and helps enhance your natural lip colour. It can also even out an asymmetrical lip line or add colour to an area lacking in pigment.

Your lips will look darker and more like lipstick on the first day, and soften as they heal to become a subtle, natural looking lip tint.

Apply a little gloss or balm and your lips are perfectly kissable!

LIP BLUSH INFO

CONSULTATION

A thirty minute consultation appointment is recommended prior to booking a first application. If you have any permanent makeup done by another artist, an in-person consultation is mandatory. If you prefer your lips to be a certain shape, style or colour, please come with them filled and bring your favourite lip colour with you to the consultation appointment.

Please note that consultation appointments are $50 plus taxes. If you decide at the time of your consultation to book an initial application, the $50 plus taxes will go towards your initial service cost.

The consultation appointment does consist of discussing what lip blush is, the application process, healing stages and any questions you might have. If you are from out of town, then a consultation for a new set can be scheduled over the phone. Unfortunately, phone consultations aren't available to clients with previously done work by another artist(s) at this time.

COLD SORES

If you are prone to cold sores, lip tattooing can

cause an outbreak.

We ask that our clients take their prescribed anti-viral medication a few days prior to their appointment, day of appointment and after the procedure to prevent

any cold sores.

If you have an outbreak, we ask that you reschedule your appointment. Please provide us with as much notice as possible. See cancelation policy (located at bottom of the page) for more details.

A list of instructions and aftercare ointment/cream will be given the day of the appointment.

Following the proper aftercare after the treatment is of great importance. If aftercare is not followed, it can result in losing up to 80% of the pigment.

Everyone's skin heals differently and most clients develop patchy areas or the appearance of fading after the first application.

It is important to understand that this is a two part process and a touch up application is needed to complete the service. Please be patient.

WHAT TO EXPECT:

There may be moderate swelling, redness and bruising for the first 3 days.

If you experience swelling, use an ice pack (provided in aftercare kit)  for no more than 15 minutes at a time to reduce swelling. Wrap ice pack in paper towel or a clean cloth before icing your lips.

During the initial healing period, there should be minimal scabbing or flaking of the skin. If there is some scabbing or flaking, do not pick, and allow the scab or dry skin to come off on its own.  This usually takes place within the first 3 days.

Expect the colour to lighten up to 50-70% once the healing process is complete.

Color may appear uneven at different stages of healing. Be patient. This is a process that does not yield immediate results.

Permanent makeup pigments are not the same as body art ink, and by design it does not last as long as body art ink. Permanent makeup does fade and is expected to last 2 to 5 years before requiring a touch up. Maintenance touch ups are suggested for best results.

It can take 2 sessions prior to achieving the level of saturation you may desire.  Touch ups are not included in the cost of the initial lip blush procedure.
