WHAT IS PERMANENT MAKEUP?

Permanent Makeup is a form of cosmetic tattooing that uses precise techniques to implant pigments into the dermal layer of the skin.

Typically used for enhancing or correcting certain features that alternatively would be done with regular makeup products. When done, the results are more natural looking then topically applied cosmetics.

Permanent Makeup is a machine applied technique using a brand new needle to deposit pigments into the second layer of skin.

All pigments used are exclusively made for permanent makeup.

A thirty minute consultation appointment is recommended prior to booking a first application. If you have microblading or permanent makeup done by another artist, an in-person consultation is mandatory.

If you prefer your brows to be a certain shape, style or colour, please come with them filled in to this appointment.

Please note that consultation appointments are $50 plus taxes. If you decide at the time of your consultation to book an initial application, the $50 plus taxes will go towards your initial service cost.

To cancel or reschedule any appointments, please provide us with at least 48 hours' notice.

For more information about our Cancelation Policy, please scroll to the bottom of the page.

APPLICATION APPOINTMENT

When first applied, the pigment will initially be 10 to 40% stronger in colour but will soften to a natural, beautiful enhancement.

An epithelial crust will form and gently fall off over 3 to 7 days. During the healing process, the colour may seem to disappear as it is obscured by the healing skin. The true colour will not come through until up to 4 weeks from initial treatment.

The healing time is different for each individual and procedure. Under no circumstances should you have further permanent makeup work on the same treated area until after 6 weeks.

Your health and well being is top priority at The Brow Loft. The treatment area is sanitized before and after all appointments. All machines are disinfected before and after every procedure. The machine, hand piece and cord is also wrapped in plastic during treatment.

A new, disposable cartridge needle will be use during your treatment and is disposed of afterwards in a Medical Sharps Container. All other products used are disposed of after procedure is complete. â€‹

Each application of permanent makeup can take is 3 to 4 hours long. Please do not schedule another appointment directly after the service so the Artist does not feel rushed. Everything will be explained step by step to ensure you understand the procedure and aftercare.

With any permanent makeup, a touch up is required in 6 to 8 weeks after the first application to complete the look. The touch up application will boost the colour and give a perfect finish. The cost of a touch up is not including in initial pricing.  Once the desired look is completed, permanent makeup can last up to 1 to 3 years. The long lasting results will depend on skin type and life style.

A list of instructions and aftercare ointment/cream will be given the day of the appointment.

Following the proper aftercare after the treatment is of great importance. If aftercare is not followed, it can result in losing up to 80% of pigment retention.

Everyone's skin heals differently and most clients develop patchy areas or the appearance of fading after the first application.

There is no downtime associated with this treatment. Redness and swelling will dissipate within an hour after.

It is important to understand that this is a two part process and a touch up application is needed to complete the brows. Please be patient.
